A Brief Study ofWU Qi's Theories concerning Ci works

WU Qi was a well-known man of letters in late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. His thoughts concerning ci poems mainly include the following aspects. First is his understanding of ci poems. He thought ci is a special kind of literary forms and it should have various styles. Second, in criticism of current situation of ci poem circle, he established his aesthetic taste. Third, in terms of understanding of ci poems, he pursued the ideal style of metaphor and contrast.
