During the years between 1936 and 1946, the Neijiang Sugarcane Test Field had made a great contribution to the overall development of the sugar industry in Sichuan. A review of the development of the Neijiang Sugar Cane Test Field and its influence gives us a clearer picture to better understand its dominant position and special advantages in the sugar industry in Sichuan. It is suggested that efforts be stepped up in aspects like the introduction of high quality seed, the cultivation of relevant talents, the improving of cane planting and the use of advanced technology, thus to revitalize the sugar industry and accumulate some valuable experience for its development.
