AStudy on the Spatial Distribution of Farmers' per capita Net Income in Sichuan

  • Based on the farmers' per capita net income of different prefectures and cities of Sichuan, an analysis is made of the general characteristics and local spatial variation trend of the farmers' per capita net income in Sichuan Province by use of the standard deviation, coefficient of variation, deviation and ratios. The results show that the overall difference of the farmers' per capita net income in Sichuan Province is very significant with the absolute difference expanding rapidly and the relative differences is in non-equilibrium state with a slightly narrowing trend. Besides, the main local spatial difference lies chiefly in the change of the absolute difference and relative difference between cities with a relatively higher economic development and a higher net income of their farmers and those peer cities, which has formed a high income zone of farmers' per capita net income in the middle area centering on Chengdu and two low income zones located in western and northeastern Sichuan, and the major middle level income zones are chiefly found in Southern Sichuan Basin region and the Panxi area. The differences of farmers' per capita net income between the five economic zones are very clear, and their internal developments are remarkably imbalanced
