A Comparison of Ideological and Political Education between America andSingapore and Its Inspiration

  • The ideological and political education of America and Singapore is characterized by practicality and efficiency. The American one pays much attention to participation in extracurricular activities and social services, while Singaporean one emphasizes social practice and conducts the education in practice. Both countries strengthen their national consciousness, stress the cooperation among schools, families, societies and governments, advance a regular order, and highlight the unity of education which has formed a systematic project. Further, they both take into account the acceptability of the educated in an attempt to let them master and internalize what they have learned. Such features of American and Singaporean ideological and political education are of great significance for reference to Chinese one.
