A Study of Attainments in Women's Education in Ming and Qing Dynasties

  • In both Ming and Qing Dynasties, women universally received good familial and home-school education. They not only knew Confucian classic works and history, got good at composing poems, calligraphy and painting, but were keen on how to administrate affairs. Some of them were born into middle-upper class families and they could follow their fathers or husbands in the official circles.
