A Review of the Studies concerning Literary Theories of Eastern Han Dynasty for a Hundred Years and Their Prospect

The literary theories of Eastern Han Dynasty had developed for a hundred years and had made great achievements either in quantity or in quality. The study of such theories has experienced three stages: the years from 1920s to 1949 as the first stage during which the study developed with the history of Chinese literary critics, those from 1949 to 1979 as the second one in which the study progressed slowly, but the overseas study witnessed its new achievements , and those from 1979 up to now as the second one.
