Electric Field and Charge Distribution of the Rotating Cylinder Conductor in a Magnetic Field
Abstract
The expressions of electric field and charge density are worked out when a metal cylinder conductor rotates respectively around the symmetry axis and the axis perpendicular to the symmetry axis in a uniform magnetic field. Studies have shown that the charge density is relevant to the angular velocity while it has nothing to do with the radius of gyration which is proportional to the size of the electric field.
