A Study of Semantic System of Chinese Dimensional Adjectives “Da and Xiao”

The Chinese adjectives “da” (big) and “xiao” (small) are used to modify the shape and can be grouped together with the nouns of various dimensions. And they tend to describe objects of which dimensions are not so salient. Besides, the two words can describe the most abstract things. And there is the distinction between time and abstract domains of their metaphorical semantic fields.
