Abstract
As a master of Chinese painting, ZHANG Da-qian made high achievements in calligraphy. There are wonderful autographs in most of his paintings left. Such autographs represent ZHANG’s artistic features in callgraphy: with fusion of stone inscription, energic, vigorous, delicate and unscrupulous. His autographs are around his painting styles, state of mind in creation and aesthetic demand. Meanwhile, they reflect the combination between traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, and attraction added by each other. His calligraphy is unique in style and contributes to his success in painting.
