On LUO Guan-zhong Studies: Sprouting, Origin, Content and Prospect

The concept of “LUO Guan-zhong Studies” was first proposed by DU Gui-chen, which refers to the study of the author of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, LUO Guan-zhong. Its proposition is inevitable and necessary. It includes the studies concerning LUO and his novels. This study is yet to be acknowledged and its future will surely influence and coexist with the studies of Romance of the Three Kingdoms and The Outlaws of Marsh. And the good style of study will be its guarantee. Such study arose at the historical moment. Though it still has a long way to go, it has a bright future which lies in the scholars’ belief, attitude and effort.
