A Textual Research into Records for Tuoluoni Jingchuang Built by LI Yi for His Deceased Parents in Liao Period

    • The tablet inscriptions Records for Tuoluoni Jingchuang Built by LI Yi for His Deceased Parents in Liao period were made by the Buddhist follower LI Yi brothers in memory of his deceased parents. And they involved elements of more beliefs. The Jingchuang was imitated after Buddhist Tuoluoni Scripture and could be treated as the one to pay respects to saints. Meanwhile, it was based onTuoluoni Scripture of Buddhist Salvation of Hungry Ghosts from Fire and it established charity giving scripture. The narrative styles of the inscriptions reflect the values and filial thoughts which people of Han Dynasties held and are the result of mutual permeation of Confucian and Buddhist cultures.
