On the Evolution of Sacrifice in Guangdong Academies from SouthSong Dynasty to Ming Dynasty

    • The sacrifice system in Guangdong Academies from South Song Dynasty to Ming Dynasty can be classified into two phases: the first phase from South Song Dynasty to the middle of Ming Dynasty during which sacrifice was made mainly to scholars of north of Nanling Mountains, and the later half Ming Dynasty as the second phase during which mainly Guangdong local scholars were sacrificed, as CHEN Baisha. The change of the sacrifice system marked the fact that Guangdong academies tended to be independent and mature.
