A Probe into the Subjects of Translation Critics
Graphical Abstract
Abstract
The 2-5-N taxonomy classifies subjects of translation critics into two categories and five types of entities, in which the two categories are bilingual and non-bilingual subjects, while the five types of entities are translators, bilingual experts, the media, readers and sponsors, and N refers to multi-possibilities of each subject. The motives of critics are composed of three aspects: discussion of translation theory and practice, expression of feelings and introduction and recommendation of translated texts. Three principles should be adhered to in translation criticism, namely, scientific and dialectic principle, objective and impartial principle, and descriptive principle.
