An overview of RS-based Monitoring of Drought & Geographic Information System

  • Drought has always been the biggest agricultural natural disaster posing the widest threat across China. By use of remote sensing and GIS technology, effective, dynamic and vast-area monitoring of drought is made possible. An overview is made about the application of remote sensing and geographic information system in drought monitoring and early warning so as to examine the prospect of employing the technology of remote sensing and GIS in drought monitoring.
