An Introduction to WANG Dong’s Thought of Administering Social Affairs

  • WANG Dong inherited WANG Gen’s thought of dealing affairs, who advocated coming to administer social affairs. Similar to the latter, he stressed the significance of lecture and took the lecture as the saints’ way of such administration and considered it as an elite’s responsibility and a means of awakening masses. WANG Dong went beyond WANG Gen’s thought of dealing social affairs. And he thought it was the social needs that decided our ways of doing things. The personal gains should not be considered too much. From the perspective of coming to administer affairs, he stressed self -cultivation for better administration and greater contribution to stabilization of both people and country.
