Reflection upon the Chain of Contempt and Circle of Aesthetic Taste in the Age of Social Media
Abstract
Taste, an aesthetic concept, has a long history, but it remains fresh. A probe into the factors that influence the social circle of aesthetic taste from the contempt chain can reveal the social ideology behind it and that of anti-contempt. Taste is not a simple aesthetic issue, but involves a variety of social ideologies. The relation between various similar forms of the tastes is more a harmonious co-existence than a hierarchical chain. Moreover, the true development of the aesthetic taste of the general public is not from a bottom to a peak, but from specific details to the overall picture. The premise of improving aesthetic literacy is to respect the diversity of the taste.
