Design and Implementation of Activities Related to Culture of Chinese Festivals in Kindergartens: A Perspective Based on Cultivation of Preschoolers' Cultural Confidence
Abstract
Traditional Chinese festivals are important cultural sources for promoting cultural confidence of Chinese people. In terms of preschool education, activities related to of traditional Chinese festivalscu can promote children's deep understanding of traditional cultural spirit and cultivate their cultural subjectivity. However, the fact is that families, society, and kindergartens often neglect the education of such culture in kindergartens. Currently, there are three issues to be solved. Firstly, no sufficient attention is paid to this education for children. Secondly, the understanding such culture is too superficial to see the essence of the culture. Thirdly, awareness of cultivating cultural subjectivity is lacked. To address these issues, efforts should be made to improve teachers' cultural literacy, promote home-school collaboration and integrate community resources, stick to the path of practical operation by children, and create rich cultural contexts of traditional Chinese festivals for children. The integration of the culture of traditional Chinese festivals with kindergarten teaching activities should be carried out organically to enhance education of cultural confidence in kindergartens.
