Reading History of FAN Changjiang in Terms of Knowledge Repository, Thought Source and Meaning Net
Abstract
Reading is an important factor for FAN Changjiang (1909-1970) to achieve success in journalism practice and build a good reputation in the trade. The study of his reading history provides a new perspective for understanding FAN. Through the mining and collating of historical documents, the preliminary collation and investigation of FAN’s reading history will help to understand and answer the following questions: What is FAN’s knowledge repository? How did he build it? And how did he combine the accumulation of reading with the practice of journalism to produce excellent works related to news? How did he obtain the "thought resources" in reading to influence his choice of career? How did he set the net of meaning through reading to shape his individual value? The research of FAN’s personal reading experience also inspires contemporary journalists to constantly improve reading and learning, build a rich knowledge system, shape a correct outlook on life and values, and exercise stamina of one’s legs, vision, brain and writing.
