Spatial-temporal evolution and driving factors of urbanization development quality in the Yellow River Basin

  • The Yellow River Basin is an important channel for China's "Belt and Road" Strategy and an important economic growth pole. Taking the 59 prefecture-level cities in the Yellow River Basin as the research object, a comprehensive evaluation index system for the quality of urbanization development in the Yellow River Basin is constructed, the entropy value method is used to calculate the weights of each index, and the spatio-temporal changes and driving factors of the urbanization development quality in the Yellow River Basin from 2009 to 2019 are explored through the joint use of MATLAB, ArcGIS10.8, geographical detectors and other tools. The results show that: (1) the quality of urbanization development in the 59 cities of the Yellow River Basin shows an overall upward trend, but the gap within the region iswidening; (2) from the perspective of spatial distribution characteristics, the quality of urbanization development in the 59 cities in the Yellow River Basin shows the spatial characteristics of "multi-core, multi-piece and linked"; (3) The number of high-level talents is found to be the most powerful driving factor for urbanization development in this region and the two-factor interaction is very strong. and he urbanization found in the 59 cities in the Yellow River Basin is one of spatially clustered agglomeration. The quality of urbanization development in this region has large room for improvement, and the research findings can provide a reference for the high-quality development of urbanization in the Yellow River Basin.
