Spatio-temporal coupling and influencing factors of new-type urbanization and ecological environment

  • The 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government in China as the research object.By constructing a new-type urbanization and ecological environment index evaluation system, the entropy value method, an improved method of coupling coordination degree model, and the Tobit model were adopted to explore various areas in China from 2011 to 2020 for their spatial-temporal evolution characteristics of coupling coordination of new-type urbanization and ecological environment, and on this basis, the stochastic effects panel Tobit model was constructed to further analyze the influencing factors of the coupling and coordinated development of new-type urbanization and ecological environment in China and all regions. The results showed that: The level of new-type urbanization in provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government increased yearly, while the level of ecological environment increased as a whole, but the evaluation indexes of ecological environment subsystem in some provinces and autonomous regions fluctuated. The coupling degree of new-type urbanization and eco-environment in China has a declining trend in general, and the coupling degree of new-type urbanization and eco-environment in each region presents intra-regional differences and inter-regional differences.The regional coupling coordination degree of new-type urbanization and ecological environment in general is on the rise, but the dynamic differences between regions, and a new type of urbanization lag province and synchronous development-oriented provinces gradually reduce, the ecological environment lag province increased, the development of the two sub-systems did not achieve the highly coupled coordination and synchronization development status, the problems of uneven evelopment.Regional innovation environment and economic development level have a positive and significant influence on the coupled and coordinated development of new-type urbanization and ecological environment in China, while industrialization level has a negative and significant influence, government fiscal expenditure scale shows a negative and insignificant influence, and there is significant spatial heterogeneity in the factors influencing the coordinated development of new-type urbanization and ecological environment in each region.
