On the Survey of Knowledge, Attitude and Behavior about the Prevention and Control of Pulmonary Tuberculosis among Undergraduates in Southern Sichuan

To find out about the general situation of undergraduates in southern Sichuan concerning their knowledge, attitude and behavior toward the prevention and control of pulmonary TB, the self-developed questionnaire of College Students’ pulmonary tuberculosis knowledge was used to survey a sampling of 600 undergraduates of five universities in South Sichuan, and 587 valid questionnaires were collected.It is found that the overall project knowledge awareness rate was 70.47%;the overall rate of students holding the correct attitude was 84.87%;the overall correct behavior rate was 70.07%.The results showed that the undergraduates of southern Sichuan area have attained a rather good level in TB prevention and treatment attitude, yet in terms of knowledge required by the state, the rate fails to reach the national level of 85%, indicating that relevant publicity effort and education job should be reinforced;in terms of behavior acquisition and active participation in publicity campaign and daily behavior much remains to be done on the part of college students.
