The Research Methods and Psychological Explanation of the Advantages of Survival Processing

A review is done of the advantages for the research paradigm and its psychological explanations of survival processing.Previous studies have mainly explained the advantages of memory processing in terms of the domain specificity, ancestral priorities, the congruity effects, the relation processing, elaborate processing and stereotype activation, which, to a certain extent, explains the reasons that result in the advantages of survival processing.However, some explanations, such as ancestral priorities and stereotype activation, had not seemed to explain the essence of the advantages of survival processing, yet the relation processing and elaborate processing seem to better reveal the inherent mechanism of the advantages of survival processing.The relation processing and elaborate processing may more constantly be found to be some experience connections that have been established in the evolution of memory.However, the neural basis of the advantages of survival processing is not yet made clear.Future research needs to improve the research method and be combined with the behavioral research and neural mechanisms research to explore the underlying causes of the advantages of survival processing.
