To protect the land from loss of water and erosion of soil, Gardenia jasminoidesandPaspalum natatu are planted inMyrica rubraof Changting county and was observed in contrast with the bare land. It is found that the soil becomes richer in terms of nutrient content, and sediment loss, runoff loss and so on were drastically reduced and and the soil water content increases. Thus it shows such a practice effectively improves the soil and reduces the loss of soil nutrients which could bring economic and ecological benefits to the locality and it can serve as a valuable reference to the local managerial officials regions with similar soil conditions.
