Big data has already become a new normal of the human civilization. By use of the data mining of huge amounts of data, new knowledge is found and new value is created and thus provides the society with opportunities for de- velopment like big technology, big intelligence and big profit. This is not only the turning point of professional skills for a li- brarian but also poses a challenge to him. It is believed that in the context of big data the librarians are lacking in ability of col- lecting professional data and the ability of big data processing and traits of a data message disseminator, innovator and digger. Yet in the big data era, a knowledge innovative-minded librarian must have the following abilities:data knowledge integration managing service, data knowledge innovation development service and data knowledge discovery and creation service etc,.
