Spatial Analysis of the Characteristics of Urban Soil Magnetic Susceptibility

  • Taking Neijiang as an example, soils taken from six types of land use(the traffic land, agricultural land, industrial land, residential land, commercial land, public service land) are taken as the research subjects, 406 soil samples(inclu- ding top soil and under soil)are collected and given a magnetic susceptibility test. The results show that the soil magnetic sus- ceptibility of Neijiang differs under the different means of land use: public service land>residential land>commercial land>in- dustrial land>traffic land>agricultural land; in the downtown district an upward trend of magnetic susceptibility is found from southwest to northeast, with the maximum values found chiefly in the Tuojiang River Hydrological Station of the Sichuan Gen- eral Station, the Neijiang Weather Bureau, Xianglong Middle School Area; while in the Dongxing district a declining trend of the magnetic susceptibility is found from inside to outside, with the maximum value found mainly in Neijiang Tobacco Logistics Center, Neijiang Hongxing Municipal Corporation, Neijiang Guanghui Residential Area. it indicates that the increase of soil magnetic susceptibility is directly related to human activities. Considering the soil environmental conditions of the sampling points, the research analyses the characteristics of the soil in Neijiang and explores the indicator significance of soil magnetic susceptibility of Neijiang upon the environment.
