On WANG Yang-ming's Mind Philosophy and Evolution of Prose Schools of Ming Dynasty

  • This paper has probed into the evolution reasons of prose schools in Ming Dynasty. Firstly, we can find the highly developed “scholar groups”. Secondly, the awareness of difference between literary schools was quite striking. Thirdly, such evolution was obviously branded by WANG Yang-ming's mind philosophy. It can be said that the appeal of the mind philosophy “self learning is better than anything else” brought the unprecedented upsurge of subjects' spirit. The Ming scholars' inclination for victory and excitement-restraining character born under the subjects' self-consciousness freedom spirit held by such mind philosophy also became an important cause for the constant change of prose schools of Ming Dynasty.
