  • ZHANG Da-qian was the master of Chinese painting who was the most legendary painter in the 20 thcentury. After 1949, he stayed overseas and persisted in the Chinese painting tradition. His profound foundation of Chinese studies, cultivation of the classical culture, agglomeration of the Chinese painting tradition, acceptance of the world and high praise, all these contributed to his persistence in the Chinese tradition abroad.
