A Case Study of Government Rescues in Regional and Systematic Banking Crises
Graphical Abstract
Abstract
This paper aims to discuss the government rescues in the regional and systematic banking crises. Through a case study of three types of bank crises(systematic and regional ones)like the S&L association crisis in the United States, the Scandinavian banking crisis, South Korea banking crisis, the enlightenment obtained is that although the trigger mechanism, evolution mode, risk level of the regional and systematic banking crises differ from one to another, as long as timely and effective governmental rescues are carried out, the regional and systematic banking crises can always be put under control, and the balance and stability of financial market can be restored eventually.
