Counter Measures for the Popularization of Chinese Fitness Qigong in Africa from the Perspective of the InternationalDissemination of Chinese Culture ——A Case Study of Benin

  • The fitness qigong, as the traditional means of Chinese health-care culture, boasts its own characteristics and advantages: it gives emphasis on the cultural deposits, etiquettes and self-perfection. A brief introduction is given to the advantages and present situation for the fitness qigong popularization inBenin. Starting off from the survey of the commonly-seen sports activities in Africa, a bottleneck restraint analysis is made of the popularization of fitness qigong in Africa and it is found that: first, the theory is too abstract; the teaching masters are far too insufficient; cultural difference is too huge. And thus counter measures for the sustainable fitness qigong development in Africa are put forth: standardization; policy formulation; domestication and pluralization. Gradual industrialization by full use of the radiation effect, thus a hopeful and all-round development of fitness qigong in Africa can be expected.
