A Probe into the Art of Colored Drawings on the Ancient Buildings of North Anhui

Through the survey and study of the existing ancient buildings in North Anhui, this paper has analyzed the artistic forms of the colored paintings on the existing ancient buildings. The author of this paper has found some artistic expressions of such art of colored painting and decoration: refined artistic style, simple and elegant means, and unsophisticated and practical forms. Through the examination on spot and consultation of relevant documents, the author has also analyzed the features of modeling, color and overall arrangement of the colored painting on these buildings of the region. Owing to its unique culture, the region has shown us the new forms of the colored painting of ancient buildings of China.
