Abstract
Tang and Song School was the one of ancient Chinese in the period of Emperor Jiajing. Its literary view was characterized by advocating the classical Chinese of Tang and Song Dynasties. GUI You-guang was a master of classical Chinese in Ming Dynasty. In terms of literary views, he was quite different from Qin and Han School. It is generally believed that GUI You-guang played a role of connection in the history of classical Chinese from Tang and Song to Qing. That is, he inherited eight masters of Tang and Song Dynasties, and laid a foundation for the Tongcheng School of Qing Dynasty. For this reason, he has been considered as a member of Tang and Song School. However, through analysis of GUI's advocation of classical Chinese and the features of his creation, we can find that it is not in accordance with the fact to do so.
