Abstract
In order to explore the relationship among self-determined motivation, the time management disposition and academic procrastination, an investigation is conducted among 639 undergraduates by use of the Self-determination Questionnaire for Undergraduates,the Adolescence Time Management Disposition Inventory, the Academic Procrastination Inventory for College Students. The results showed: significant gender differences were found in the dimension of procrastination; the student's major is found to exert significant differences in the dimensions of total academic procrastination and procrastination; significant grade differences were found in the dimension of insufficient planning; there was significantly positive correlation between self-determined motivation and time management tendency; self-determined motivation not only affects academic procrastination directly,but also has an indirect effect on it through time management tendency; time management tendency plays an absolute mediating role between self-determined motivation and academic procrastination, with the mediating effect accounting for up to 87.8% in the total effect.
