On Ternary Nature of Music Communication

  • Music communication can be dated to ancient times. The archaeological discoveries in “Sanxingdui Culture” and “Hemudu Culture” show that there were music-relevant statements 10, 000 years ago. This paper aims to probe into the roles of music communication which serve as the motivation for its beginning, development, innovation and civilization. These can be generalized into a ternary structure of music communication: nature worship, humanistic care and time spirit. And the music origin is closely related to its nature worship(including natural humanistic worship). The music humanistic care is connected with its development and nature. And the music time spirit is linked tightly with the typicality of musical image. This paper has made a study of the ternary nature of music communication with detailed and accurate historical materials of music, vivid music stories, typical music works and music language.
