Reflection on the May 4thPeriod After Nora Left
Graphical Abstract
Abstract
With the deep influence on China brought about by Ibsen's A Doll's House, the writers during the May 4
thperiod shaped a lot of new female images who left their home to seek for their freedom for love. Such May 4
thNora novels opened a time in which Chinese females in a blowout number pursued women's liberation through the form of elopement. Through the study of three issues: free love, knowledge's uselessness and love's home, this paper has revealed the unfortunate experience of Chinese “Noras” after their leaving home, and exposed the “may 4th” intellectual elites'evil intentions to instigate the traditional Chinese females with western “Nora” to leave their homes to pursue their “free love” and “women's liberation” in an attempt to meet their own lust.
