On Self-classicized Essays of Analects School and Their Positions in Literary Circle

In the literary circle of 1930s, the essays of Analects School occupied an important status. The acquisition of such status was closely related to their high artistic achievements as well as the self-classicized Analects School. Most writers of this school owned considerable cultural capital and discourse power, which made preparation for their self-classicization. With the help of editing periodicals, publishing series of books and compiling A System of New Chinese Literature(1917 - 1927), LIN Yu-tang and his friends promoted the fame and status of essays successfully. The essays' success of Analects School in literary circle expanded the influence of liberalist literature. And it is of great significance for both pluralistic development of literature and prosperity of the whole literary circle.
