Abstract
It is said that Tang Xuanzong came to Wanli Bridge of Chengdu when he traveled to Sichuan. The bridge has attracted people's attention ever since. It has not only added metaphors to poets' composition but endowed officials with decoration and achievements. DU Fu and XUE Tao changed this place into the poets' perching space when they came to Sichuan and composed their poems. The poems concerning bamboos and willows of LIU Yu-xi and TENG Mai imagined the bridge as a place in which prostitutes accumulated. And CEN Shen and LU Hong took it as a psychological railing for missing their hometowns when they were stranded in Sichuan. The bridge is not only the witness of prosperity and decline of Tang Dynasty in the eyes of Sichuan people, but the local landmark under the writers' pens of Tang Dynasty.
