Sports Culture in Traditional Vehicles of the Kangba Nationality

Abstract
By means of literature review and questionnaire survey, a probe is made into the sports element in the traditional traffic tools of the Kangba Nationality. The results show that the sports events evolved from the traditional vehicles like the cow skin boat race, rafting, leather-bag river crossing, river-crossing via overhead cable, horse race and yak race, etc., are the concrete reflection of the Zang people's peculiar understanding of life cognition and living style. Yet regretfully, these sports events are now undergoing a drastic decline with the decadency of the traditional vehicles. To dig out, sort and study these sports items and revitalize them, thus to inherit and further develop them is of vital importance to achieve the shift of the means of economic growth and the improving of people's casual cultural life.
