Analysis of the Coupling Effects between Urbanization and Eco-environment ——A Case Study of Longyan City, Fujian Province

In order to evaluate the coupling between urbanization and ecological environment in Longyan City, an evaluation system and a corresponding model have been created. By use of the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)and Entropy method, the system is adopted to evaluate the coupling between urbanization and eco-environment by examining the related official statistical data collected from 2004 to 2013. The result reveals that within the ten-year period, the comprehensive index of both urbanization and ecological environment is on gradual increase with occassional fluctuations. The coupling effect of the two indices stays high yet the coordination degree between them is steadily improving. To sum up, Longyan City, currently, has now undergone a coordinated development of its urbanization and eco-environment, though further reinforcement is still needed.
