Study on Settlement Optimization and Disaster Management of WenchuanEarthquake-stricken Area

Post-disaster reconstruction is a settlement upgrading process. The settlement process is not only to realize the socio-economic and natural systems reconstruction but also a settlement reconstruction practice of balancing urban and rural development through scientific reconstruction plan. Disaster management has provided a broad space for settlement development. The settlements are more livable, sustainable, and remarkable achievements are made in the construction of habitat security. Since the post-disaster reconstruction didn't take long, the capacity for disaster prevention and mitigation cannot expect to achieve overnight, therefore the settlement optimization and improvement of disaster management ability become an inevitable choice for the development of the earthquake-stricken area. At last the paper reflects upon the disaster management effect and explores about the optimization models.
