On the Nature of Bride Party of England in the Late Middle Ages

  • Various kinds of parties were popular in England in the Middle Ages. Among them, the bride party was ones of the most common one in the rural areas. People in the party drank and got their happy times, they generously offered their money or gifts. Were they aids to their neighbors or the relief to the newly married couple? Though there exist some differences between Chinese and English cultures, we can see from the Chinese tradition wedding parties that they did so in order to witness and congratulate the weddings and do their best to add happiness and joy to the party
