Some Examples of Meaning Seeking from Words’ Pronunciation in Research of Them

  • It is an important exegetic means to seek the meaning of a word according to its pronunciation. The practice that we use the real word instead of a borrowed one is quite striking in research of some difficult words. This paper has studied the meanings of eight words in some Taoist classic works with the meaning-seeking method in an attempt to serve as reference for the study of them.
