On Features of Contemporary Feminist Criticism from a Perspective of Bell Hooks' Critical Practice
Graphical Abstract
Abstract
Hooks' theory of critical practice reflects some features of contemporary feminist criticism. Firstly, its dimension has stepped to the paradigm of fusion among gender, race and class, and the black feminist criticism has contributed a lot to it. Secondly, its status as a whole cannot be maintained. Texts are mutually contradictory. Moreover, forces for women's rights and against them are confronted. Thirdly, cross- boundary inclination is increasingly seen from subject and style, and it tends to be the one that the creation is oriented by feminism. This transfer has brought about the new subject which is worthy of our attention.
