Abstract:The collected works by WANG Tingyun from the Jin dynasty has been largely lost. In the 1930s, JIN Yufu edited Huanghua Collectionby WANG, consisting of eight volumes. However, this compilation does not encompass all the results of JIN’s efforts in recovering WANG’s works. After the publication of this collection, JIN continued his research and compilation of works by WANG. The process of this compilation was meticulously recorded, and a wealth of materials were also preserved in JIN’s Diary of Jingwu Studio. Therefore, a certain degree of intertextuality was created between the diary and Huanghua Collection. Based on this intertextuality, this study organizes JIN’s compilation efforts regarding the collection alongside his research on WANG. It also summarizes the nature and characteristics of the compilation. This paper seeks to further supplement the Huanghua Collectionbased on JIN’s existing achievements, while also attempts to outline the current strategies for supplementation.
